Visit of Fathers René and Joy to Raalte
It had been coming for a while, but in August the moment was there: Fathers Joy and René visited us in Raalte, where they stayed with the chairman. They didn't even have to travel that far, as they are currently temporarily stationed in Denmark and Norway respectively. Traditionally, the Fathers were taken on trips to see more of the Netherlands. Visits were made to Amsterdam and Giethoorn, and also to a supermarket that supports our work by offering their customers the choice to donate deposit money to our projects. A lot of information was shared with the Fathers back and forth. It was a very nice and helpful visit.

Wilde Ganzen supports Havonos' projects by flying for us on 18 September
If you follow our activities on a regular basis, you will come across Wilde Ganzen in all our major projects. As Havonos we maintained an excellent relationship with Wilde Ganzen for years. It’s true; without their support we could not do nearly as much for the people in our project area. We therefore cherish the contact and are intensely grateful for what Wilde Ganzen does for us. In addition to financial and substantive project support, Wilde Ganzen also supports us in other ways. This is also the case on Sunday 18 September 2022. On that day, at 12:30 on NPO 2, geese will fly for the Havonos Foundation, drawing attention to community centre. This not only generates brand awareness, it also generates financial support for Wilde Ganzen. We also benefit from this, as Wilde Ganzen uses that financial support to continue supporting projects like ours.

Gift from Henk and Florentina de Weerd
Perhaps you too enjoyed Stöppelhaene and the beautiful floats that passed through Raalte during the Corso? One of these particularly beautiful floats was built by ‘De Knapenklinkers’. The Fathers visited this float during construction and were very impressed by the way all those seeds were handled. As a result of their effort, De Knapenklinkers won first prize. The second prize went to the Raalte scouts. True to tradition, Scouting Raalte was once again allowed to use the space in a barn owned by the De Weerd family (asparagus farm De Weerd in Raalte). Scouting pays a fee to the De Weerd family and Henk and Florentina de Weerd have - as they have done before - donated the fee of € 100,- to our projects. A gesture for which we are very grateful.
In this way, we also thank the PKN churches in Oldenzaal and Raalte very warmly for their donation. Both churches have supported Havonos for years. We hope we can also count on your help and support in the future. With the mention of these donations, we conclude this news item. We thank you again for your interest in and support of our work.
