With this project we help women in the north of Sri Lanka to be self sustainable after the Tsunami and years of war. Often, women are most resilient. The women and girls in the region finished several trainings of the education centre OBTEC, amongst others sewing education, and received diploma's.

After these educations have finished, Havonos supported the start of a sewing studio where women work together and can generate their own income. This gives them a chance to break the circle of poverty. We hope an increasing number of assignments will be given to them for sewing work.
