Havonos supports this house in Vavuniya, where the Good Shepherd Sisters run an orphanage, and where girls from 5 to 18 years old, and unmarried mothers, are collected with their babies. Many women have become unwantedly pregnant by rape. The women and girls live, despite their sometimes different religious backgrounds, in harmony with each other. They get the opportunity to learn skills that contribute to their future. Also they receive medical care and participate in extracurricular activities. So they can develop into healthy individuals. Activities at the hostel include: education, meditation, therapy, computer classes, crafts and painting, pottery, gardening and sewing lessons.
